My mind has been on mushrooms lately as my wife wants to go and check out our spot over at Pigeon River FWA. Since it is a public area, it is usually hit or miss whether we find any or not. I just finished reading Morel Madness '19 on the site. Some of you guys had a pretty good year. Hope this gets your interest up and you find time to get out and get your legs stretched a little. I'm sure ready! Of course as always happens when it starts getting nice out I'm working extra days. I've got one and a half days off starting Wednesday so I'll be looking.

I am used to hunting spoil banks, so I am a bit out of my element in the type of woods that are around here.

Took a walk around the property today. It’s crazy how good it looks but just doesn’t produce the morels. Did find some pheasant back/dryads saddle that I’d like to try but I’m afraid these are a little past prime.

daybreak: Always loved Labor Day weekend. Time for those jet skis and speed boats to go back in storage and make room on the lakes for us fishermen again. (:))
