I won a free fishing trip back on Christmas Day with Tennessee River Monsters and yesterday I finally got down there and brought both my boys. We met the Captain at the ramp at 0530 and he was already on the water waiting for us. It was a really short ride to where the Tennessee and Clinch rivers meet up and the screen was lit up when we got to the anchor spot. We were using cut skipjack and fishing the bottom. There were so many catfish down there that we were getting constant bites, but when the rod doubled up you knew it was time for some fun!
We ended up with 5 nice stripers and a bunch of blue cats. I wanted to bring some fish home for a fry but I finally had to say "no mas!" as my 150qt cooler was reaching it's limit.
All the cats we kept were good eater sized and we threw back dozens that were bigger and smaller.
We shot a lot of video and Chase is gonna put it on his youtube soon. It was a blast!
