The pumpkin patch is back! Was too busy last year to plant it and then was heartbroken when my granddaughter asked if I had pumpkins last fall. Will probably always have them from now on. 🎃

Tried putting the younger chicks in with the older ones and it didn't work so well. Had to put together another pen for the youngsters. I took this pic and sent it to Gail with the caption "chick shantytown." 😂

There's an old Dish pole by the pond and we used it to brace a cage for cucumbers.

Wow. After the disastrous last vacation with the dog breaking its leg and having to stay home, I was hoping for smooth sailing this time. First day and it's been anything but. Was rushing home after work last night to get the mowing done when Gail texts telling me to call ASAP. That's never good. She had been in Bloomington stocking up on dogfood when the storms hit. Her idiot Pyrenees got scared and decided to go into the cabin via the window where the AC unit was. She came home to the muddy beast in the house and the AC unit laying in the mud still plugged in. I had to do a Uturn and grab a new unit at Menards. $500 later I'm heading home again when she sends me another wonderful video. She had a contractor working in the modular and evidently the broken leg poodle had slipped into the house. He hadn't noticed and shut her in when he left. She destroyed the trim on the front door trying to get out. On top of all this we have the tropical storm brewing that could turn into Hurricane Debby. Most models show it going right through the scalloping grounds. It would be at least a week after it goes through before the water would be clear enough to scallop. Oh well. I just told Gail maybe we could go see some movies or something. Below is a pic of the door damage and what I've done to protect the new AC.

Wow! I read this yesterday and wasn't sure how to respond. I was hoping someone else would jump on here first to offer some consoling, so I would know better how to respond. You sure get tested around every corner and seem to continue to rise to the occasion each time. I truly admire the resourcefulness you and Gail seem to possess under pressure. I've learned life isn't always easy. Hope you get off to Florida and have to good time doing whatever you are able to do with the weather coming in. Good luck and keep us posted.

Lol, thanks Doug! When Gail and I first met she told me things might not always be perfect, but one thing she could promise; it will never be boring! 😂

Gail had her family out today for chili and pumpkins to celebrate her son and grandsons birthdays. The pumpkins were a hit! 🎃
