Nice! I kept 11 from a lake here in northern Indiana. Nothing real special, just good eaters.

It was so nice yesterday and I got off work a little early so Gail and me hit the the ponds. Caught several gills, but only 1 crappie and a few dink bass. Checked the woods for shrooms, but nothing yet.

Nice speck! Were you casting the jig or was it under a bobber?

Nice speck! Were you casting the jig or was it under a bobber? Under a bobber. Had several bites, but this was the only crappie I connected on. Was casting a black beetle spin for a while and caught a few keeper gills.

Gail and me wetted a few lines at the ponds Saturday evening. She was tearing up the big gills with a worm, but I wanted to tangle with those big crappie and was using jigs. I finally couldn't stand watching her fighting those big bluegill so I switched to a worm and immediately caught a big crappie! It was the only one, but nice. She probably caught 20 nice gills. We both forgot our phones, so no pics.

A couple friends and I took my jonboat on her maiden voyage down to Moss Lake in Hillenbrand the other day. No crappie for us because the guys wanted to fish for bass, but there were several boats on the lake and all of them were putting the smack down on the crappie on their beds. One guy told me he and his wife limited out two days in a row.
