Fished the Airline pit all afternoon with not much luck. I dug up some worms for bait and brought my trout fixins along too. The dinks were all I was catching on worms so I tried a little trolling and caught this gill on my little orange rooster tail.... It started raining so I backed up under a tree and was casting the rooster tail and had some whopper redear and decent crappie follow it to the boat but they wouldn't bite. They wouldn't even take the live worms. Finally tied on a jig and managed one small crappie.... It looked like this crappie was still full of eggs. A couple guys were fishing from the boat ramp and one of them caught a pretty good crappie on beemoth. I decided to try some more trolling and had two poles out with the little orange rooster tails and one with a little cleo. Had what felt like a good trout hooked up on a rooster tail but when I turned to shot off the trolling motor I gave the fish a split second of slack and it got off. The gnats are pretty bad so better bring some vanilla extract if you're headed to the forest.
