Monty and strippitman met at the house here at 7:30am and we made the short drive down to Greene-Sullivan State Forest. Matt was on fire to start things off and put 2 whopper redear on the ice. Matt was showing us how it's done with his new humminbird ICE 385ci and I was pretty much convinced that I was never gonna keep up with him unless I went home and ordered one right now! But, the bite slowed down for Matt and after a while it was Monty who had the hot hole. I had to meet Kim in Linton to sign some papers for her "new" suv, so we went into town and took a break for lunch. The Greene-Sullivan talley was Monty 16, Matt around a dozen, and me 4. After lunch we tried a pit at Hillenbrand FWA, but the ice wasn't good at all, only a couple inches covered with water. We ended up back at Shakamak on Kickapoo and the bite was SLOW. Finally it started heating up before dark and we managed to finish out our mess. The final talley was Monty 27, me 20, and Matt 16. I would have traded a dozen gills for strippitman's 2 redear though! It was a great time and I can't wait to get this work week done so we can get back out!

Yeah, I had a great time too! I can't wait to do it again! Man Vs. Machine - I like that! Machine was kicking butt to start off the day but Man won this time. I'll get my redemption The way I started. I thought I was gonna put a hundred on the ice but it didn't quite work that way. I did learn something by fishing with you guys. When the jigging bite "peters" out it's time to turn to a rig that stays stationary. You guys were pounding them with the stationary bobber setup while my jigging technique became worthless. Thanks for introducing me to a different style of fishing. The way we fish up north is to drill lots of holes, as you noticed I did on MOnday, and move around jigging in each hole trying to take active fish and staying mobile. Sometimes that works real well other times it doesn't. It was working real well until 11:00 Like I said though, I can't wait to do it again. I'm also glad to have developed a great friendship with a couple of great guys down there It's a shame we have to be 4 hours apart

Thawed some fish out to fry and just noticed the date on the bag; they're from this trip! The oil is heating right now. I'll let you know how they were Matt!
