So I finally shipped the optic back to the company I ordered the package through. The issue I had was it wasn't the correct optic. There are 3 different variants with that particular optic. The model number on the box was the correct one but the scope inside was different. Looks similar but the mount is slightly different. When I emailed the company they tried telling me I was installing it wrong and that it should work fine. I didn't really care for that answer and sent pictures showing differences. Their next reply was if I wasn't happy with the purchase I could return the optic. So tomorrow the optic should be heading back to NC and they'll refund me as they don't have any replacements at this time. I'm fine with that because since then I have discovered some other optics that I like better that are in the same price range. I'm going to wait until I see the refund before I order a new one though...or not. Hard telling.

In a bit of a dilemma for the upcoming deer firearm season. In the beginning of the year I parted ways with my 16" 300 black out AR. It's one of those uppers I shouldn't have bought but I got caught up in tinkering with AR's and the different caliber options a few years ago. I had mentioned selling it and a friend wouldn't stop bugging me about it after that. I was looking to replace the AR with a Ruger Ranch rifle in 300BO but wasn't going to buy one until I sold the AR. The second stimy came through and my friend was right there ready to buy. Sold. Now came the daunting task of trying to find a Ruger Ranch in 300BO (preferably local, did not want to hassle with online) and not overpay for it. It was now April time frame and one became available at TG. There are 2 variants for this rifle. One with a box mag and the other takes pmags. The pmag version is over $100 more than the box mag model. I was wanting the pmag version for ease of swapping mags with different ammo types (don't want to waste the good deer ammo on a yote...that was my thinking at the time). The one TG had was the box mag and it was normal price. Went there after work, looked at it...bought it. After getting it home and checking it over I'm glad I didn't wait for a pmag version as this will do just fine. I also don't see why Ruger upcharges for the pmag variant. I mean, I can but not over $100 more. To date I have not shot this rifle (surprise, surprise). It's a reoccurring theme for me. So the other selling point for this rifle is it has a threaded barrel so I can run the can on it. Load up some big 200+ grain sub sonic rounds and this thing should be really quiet. I do have some Nosler 220 grain subs that the old AR refused to feed. They should do fine in a bolt gun.

Part 2...you ever been in the middle of long post and lose net connection and your post doesn't go through? It's happened to me more than once but not this time. I've learned. Anyway, recently with the ammo shortages I started noticing my local WM would get 350 Legend ammo in stock. Always walking by the counter to see what they have it was always that and I didn't own one. A month or 2 passes and one website that I've used for ordering AR parts has a sale on 350 uppers. A little research and a "swipe" of the card later and I have parts and ammo (deer legal stuff, WM was selling FMJs) on the way. I also had a lot of optic swapping I wanted to do and my new Ruger still didn't have one. Took care of all that last weekend so everything is good to go??? I think? So back to the original purpose of these 2 posts are I can't decide if I want to take the Ruger or the 350 out this year? I still haven't shot either one. I don't know if my suppressor is capable for .35 cal rounds. There might be an increased chance for baffle strikes with it...not sure. So it's either a suppressed Ruger 300BO bolt gun or a loud AR in 350 Legend? Tough call. On a side note I also have 6 days left until 23 days off. Sweet mother of God next Friday cannot get here quick enough. I'll also be taking the bow out the week before opener too.

Here's the Ruger before the optic with the can on it. These are fairly light weight rifles with a trigger that mimics the Savage Accu trigger.

Shooting 220 grain Noslers this thing is hearing safe behind the gun. All you hear is the bullet impacting the target. I should've recorded a video behind the gun too. Ignore Mom's patio furniture. I have sighted many a gun in using this setup though.

I will probably use the 350 Legend AR Saturday morning. I'm not 100% confident with the Ruger just yet.

Good luck. It looks like that could get the job done.

I keep telling myself that I'll step into the world of coyote hunting someday and somewhat dedicate myself/time to it. At the moment I don't want to dedicate to it so I feel like I'm prepping for it. Meet the newest addition...a 204 Ruger, 24" threaded bull barrel. Now that eforms are a thing for suppressors I will more than likely have a dedicated 5.56 can before the year is over. In order to use the .30 cal can on this I have to use a thread adapter. Haven't shot this guy yet either. I've been working some OT lately and my weekends are spent being lazy. The weather sucks anyway. I like a good snow but I hate cold rain and ice. I'm also trying to convince myself that maybe I should drop coin on a thermal. That is still up for debate.

The next one has been purchased but hasn't arrived at the dealer yet. 3 week wait just to get it and then the paperwork and waiting game begins. I'll run this on the 450BM AR, Cascade 350 Legend and if I can ever get my hands on one a Marlin SBL 45-70. deadairsilencers.com/silencers/primal/

The dealer I went through for the can went to shot show last week but this past Monday evening we got the eform filled out, filed and $200 paid to the ATF. Now we wait...6 to 9 months...hopefully not longer.

I have passed the 9 month mark and am still waiting. This truly is the worst part about stepping in the NFA game.

I forgot to post the update. Just shy of 10 months; Jan. 23 to Nov 12. Suppressor number 2 is in my possession. As of now I've only sent one round through it and it was a sub 9mm round through a pistol. Now I just need some other accessories for it to use on other guns.
