Check your local listings, but MAN has it been windy here the last couple days! I "tried" fishing Crystal Lake in Hillenbrand FWA yesterday and only caught dink gills and finally gave up when the wind was blowing me so hard across the lake that I was leaving a wake. Water temp was back down to 61. This morning I headed over to Minnehaha FWA after the family left for school. The trout weren't going for the spinners in that crystal clear water under those bluebird skies...only caught 3 and all on worms. I did catch a 13" bass on a Mepp's trout killer spinner. Fished Minne for about 3 hours then went across the highway to the Greene-Sullivan Dugger Unit. Stopped and made a lucky cast at Long Lake and caught this little crappie... Tried a few more casts but the wind was blowing my lure right back in my face. Also stopped and made a few casts at West Lake, South Bass Lake, and Pump Lake with no luck. For the first time I saw a bald eagle on the nesting platform at Bass Lake... When the boys got home from school I talked Chase into going over to our Clay County honey hole to help me finish out a mess. He got his first taste of the big gills in there... I brought some worms this time and thought it would be quick and easy to catch a mess, but the little ones would grab the worms before the big ones could get it. We ended up keeping 7 or 8 and all but 1 of the bigger ones came on 1/16 oz jigs. 4 Of the bigger ones... It was a lot of hours fishing to only clean 3 trout, 7 or 8 gills, and a crappie, but hey, beats a day at work!

Not a bad day at all in my opinion!
Those bluegills are really nice!

Did you talk your brother-in-law out of filling in that pond?
